Introduction
Hong Kong Information Technology Skills Assessment Centre (HKITSAC) is set
to provide recognized skill-based assessment and certificate to the people
of Hong Kong. This document is to define policies and guidelines
associated with the assessment tests offered by HKITSAC. Enrolled
candidates shall comply with the defined policies and conditions set
below.
The Policies and Guidelines are
subject to change or amendments by the HKITSAC. The latest version will be
announced on the web site.
Application
There is no limitation to the number of assessment tests a candidate can
apply for. Application(s) shall reach HKITSAC at least 3
working days before the preferred date of assessment tests. Applicant(s)
should contact HKITSAC if no notification/confirmation is received
2 days
prior to the preferred date of assessment test(s). The final assessment
date is subject to the confirmation of the HKITSAC. Should there
be any
changes to the assessment schedule(s), applicant(s) shall inform the
HKITSAC at least 7 working days before the original schedule(s)
for other
time slot arrangements. Applicant(s) can refer to the sessions available
for each subject either from the web page or obtain information on
sessions from our hotline 2836- 1797.
The HKITSAC reserves the right to
reject or accept any application for assessment test(s).
Payment
Assessment fee should be paid in cheque together with the application
form, crossed and made payable to ¡§Vocational Training Council¡¨. Fee
is not refundable once the application is accepted. If the application is
rejected, the fee paid will be returned to the applicant. Official receipt
will be issued to acknowledge the payment. In case of loss of receipt,
duplicate(s) can be issued at the cost of $200 per copy.
Policy on
Personal Data
Any information collected and recorded by HKITSAC in relation to an
applicant or candidate, from which the identity of the applicant or
candidate (as the case may be) can be ascertained, will be subject to The
Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486, Laws of Hong Kong) and
VTC¡¦s Policy on Personal Data, available from the General Office of the
HKITSAC.
It will be necessary for
applicants to supply certain personal data to the HKITSAC for
registration/enrolment, and failure to do so may result in delay or
inability of the HKITSAC to
process the application(s). The
information given in the application form should be accurate and complete.
In submitting the application form, it is implied that the applicant has
consented that the data can be used in accordance with the VTC¡¦s Policy
on Personal Data. All candidates should present their HKID card for
identification during the assessment test(s).
Certificate
The result of each assessment test will be announced within 14 working
days after the tests. Certificate(s) must be collected in person or
through the office(s) of a recognized training provider(s) with proof of
identity. Certificate(s) pending for collection will be kept by HKITSAC
for 12 months before making void and being destroyed.
In case of loss or theft,
application for re-issuance of a certificate will be dealt with after the
claimant reported to the police and paid the administration fee of $200
per certificate.

We strongly recommend that
candidate(s) arrive at the examination centre 10 minutes before the
commencement of the assessment session. Candidate(s) late for 15
minutes or above after the assessment session commenced will be regarded
as absent. Candidate(s) are not allowed to leave the venue in the last
15 minutes of the assessment.

the end of the session and when conditions are safe for candidates
to leave the centre. |

announcements of the VTC on TV and radio.
Disturbances
During an assessment there may be disturbances such as system/hardware
failure which cannot be repaired in time without affecting the assessment,
halt of power supply, fire, and other unforeseeable circumstances making
the assessment void. In such event the assessment session affected will be
rescheduled without additional fee to the candidates.
Appeals
Candidate will not be permitted to cross-examine results of an
assessment. Candidate may appeal for cross-examination of his/her result
by an arbitrator within 7 days after the issuance of result
notification. In such case, an IT professional from a supporting
organization will be invited as external examiner to cross-examine the
test result as an arbitrator and give the final verdict, on behalf of the
HKITSAC and the appealing candidate. A fee of $100 will be levied for each
appealed subject; the fee will not be refundable if the assessment result
remains the same; refund will be arranged if otherwise.
Assistance
to Disabled
Special arrangement will be made as far as possible to accommodate
disabled. Request for special assistance should be raised at least 3
working days before the preferred assessment session(s). |
